Frequently Asked Questions

What does your tax preparation process look like?

  1. Turn in all tax documents
  2. Your preparer will complete your return.
  3. You preparer will call you to go over the results.
  4. Your preparer will send you your e-file forms to sign.
  5. After we’ve received all signed e-file forms, your preparer will submit your return to the IRS on your behalf.
  6. Once the IRS has accepted your return, we’ll assemble a client copy for you.
  7. When your return is ready to be picked up, you’ll receive a call from our office notifying you.


I’m a first-time client. What do I bring to my tax appointment?

  • For all first-time clients, we ask that you bring your 2021 tax documents as well as a copy of your 2020 return.


What should I do if I didn’t file last year’s return?

  • We ask that you bring a copy of your 2019 return and all 2020 and 2021 tax documents. We’ll then file both year’s returns.


Do you have a client portal?

  • If you would like to utilize our client portal, please contact your tax preparer, and he or she will send you an invitation.


Will I have the same tax preparer as last year?

  • We value the relationship our clients establish with their preparer, and we try our best to maintain that ongoing relationship.


How do I get you my tax documents?

  • You can bring your tax documents with you at the time of your appointment.
  • You can drop off your tax documents in-person to our front desk.
  • You can upload your tax documents to your client portal. If you would like to utilize this option, please contact your tax preparer, and he or she will send you an invitation.
  • You can mail your tax documents to our office.
  • You can email your preparer you tax documents. All of our preparer’s emails are listed under the “About” and “Our Team” tab located at the top.
  • You can slip your tax documents in our secure drop-box located at the front of our office.


How do I sign my e-file forms?

  • You may either sign in person or your preparer will send you a DocuSign link where you can sign electronically.


What should I do if DocuSign couldn’t verify my identity?

  • Please call our office, and we’ll either have you sign your e-file forms in-person or we’ll email you the forms to sign.


When can I pick up my tax return?

  • When your return is ready to be picked up, you’ll receive a call from our office notifying you.


What should I do if I can’t pick up my tax return in person?

  • Contact your preparer, and he or she will send you a copy of your return via mail or email.


What should I do if I received an additional tax document after I’ve already filed my tax return?

  • Contact your preparer. If necessary, he or she will file an amended return.


How do I file an extension on my tax return?

  • Contact your preparer, and he or she will file an extension on your behalf. To avoid penalties, all extensions requests must be submitted by April 15, 2021. As a reminder, an extension to file is not an extension to pay.


How do I pay for my tax return?

  • You can pay online by going to our home page, and selecting “Submit a Payment”.
  • You can pay in-person at the time of your appointment.
  • You can pay over the phone.
  • You can send us your payment in the mail.


What forms of payment do you accept?

  • We accept cash, checks, and all major credit cards.


How do I get a copy of my tax return?

  • Contact your preparer, and he or she will gladly send you a copy of your tax return.


What should I do if I received a notice in the mail?

  • Send a copy of your notice to your preparer, and he or she will determine what next steps need to be taken.


How do I check the status of my refund?

  • Refunds are independently distributed by the IRS. You can check the status of your refund by going to the IRS’s Where's My Refund page.
